Nikolai M Noel (b. 1976, Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago) is a conceptual artist whose practice is concerned with racial and class politics, fiction, social justice, history, memory and failure. In his work he deliberately obfuscates definitions, denies meaning or creates misrepresentations in order to exacerbate the personal and social anxiety activated through inclusion/exclusion as it relates to histories, narratives, experiences, perceptions and power.

Noel's work has been exhibited nationally and internationally at Alice Yard, Medulla Art Gallery, Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) at MECA, Art Museum of the Americas, Trinidad Art Society and the National Museum and Art Gallery (Trinidad and Tobago). His work has been published in Third Text, Art Nexus, Rethinking Art's Histories, Small Axe, Radical History Review and The Caribbean Review of Books.

Noel is a founding member of SYoS (See You on Sundays), an artist collective and critical theory reading group committed to arts education in Trinidad and Tobago. SYoS is a modest initiative inspired by other experimental free public pedagogical engagements around the world dedicated to exploring and enacting new methodologies for social learning/education and sharing.
Noel has worked as an animation and video production professional and entrepreneur locally for over thirteen (13) years. He holds a B.A. Visual Art from the University of the West Indies and an M.F.A., Fine Art from Virginia Commonwealth University.
