Mr Feyaz Karim --:-- EiTA Winner, 2023

Academic Unit: Aviation Institute

Mr Feyaz Karim is Deputy Director at the UTT’s Aviation Institute.

He possesses thirty-two (32) years of experience in the aviation industry both locally and internationally with specialization in rotary wing aircraft.

He has worked with the Trinidad and Tobago Air Guard as Manager of Technical Services and was responsible for the acquisition of four (4) AW139 helicopters for the Ministry of National Security.

He also worked as the Director of Maintenance at National Helicopter Services Limited (NHSL) and was responsible for the fleet modernization programme for the AW139 and S76 helicopters.

He holds aircraft maintenance certification and aeronautical studies qualifications from the United Kingdom and has been trained in aircraft accident investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) in the United States.

He also holds aviation safety and security certification from the University of Southern California in the United States.

He has worked with young people, mentoring them through his teaching career with Servol, School of Continuing Studies – UWI, YTEPP and other Aviation companies using the watch words of Integrity, Honesty, Respect for Authority and Commitment to Hard Work.
