Academic Unit: Health Administration - Health Systems

Dr Samantha Glasgow is an Assistant Professor in the Health Sciences Unit at the University of Trinidad and Tobago.

Within this role, she lectures students on critical management and leadership issues in the health sector and supervises PhD students within the Unit.

Her technical expertise is in Organizational Health and Well-Being; an interdisciplinary field that explores organizational, social, and psychological factors that impact workers' health and well-being.

Through her research in this area, she hopes that her findings will inform the development of strategies to improve the well-being of particularly human resources for health in our local healthcare sector.

Dr Glasgow is currently publishing work on the lived-experiences of being on-call among Trinidadian doctors and their significant others.

As a lecturer in the Master's in Health Administration-Health Systems programme, she aims to train her students to apply appropriate theories to address health sector management and leadership challenges, effectively implement new policies and strategies to improve healthcare service delivery and lead health sector reform and change.
