Academic Unit: Project Management Civil Infrastructure Systems (Civil Engineering)

Ms Kavita Ramnarine-Ramsawak is a Senior Instructor in the Project Management and Civil Infrastructure Systems Academic Unit at the UTT.

She is also a seasoned, registered Civil Engineer with 18 years of combined experience in the local construction industry and academia.

Currently, she delivers Fluid Mechanics and Construction Technology courses.

She has been able to merge her practical knowledge and pedagogical expertise to ensure that her students not only learn theories and principles but also see their applications. As such, she loves taking her students to the laboratories and on field trips.

She is a very solutions-oriented person and has prioritized the use of technology in her course delivery.

She admits that this job is one of the most fulfilling and looks forward to continue, positively impacting her students.

When she is not working, she stays busy, caring for her two young kids and working on her PhD.

She is honored and thrilled to receive this 2023 Excellence in Teaching Award.
