Dr. Aaron Balgobin is an Assistant Professor at the University of Trinidad and Tobago with over a decade of experience supporting teaching, research, and laboratory operations in the environmental and marine sciences. He holds a PhD in Marine Sciences (2019), an MSc in Environmental Science and Management (2010), and a BSc in Chemistry with a Minor in Analytical Chemistry from The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine.
Dr. Balgobin’s research focuses on anthropogenic pollution, environmental toxicology, and ecological and human health risk assessment, particularly within coastal and marine ecosystems of Trinidad and Tobago. His work has been published in several peer-reviewed international journals, with emphasis on pollution source apportionment, sediment contamination, and impacts on marine organisms.
He possesses extensive technical expertise in advanced analytical instrumentation, including GC-MS, HPLC, FTIR, AAS, and isotope ratio mass spectrometry. Dr. Balgobin is committed to supporting practical scientific training, promoting environmental sustainability, and advancing applied research in marine and environmental sciences.
