On July 15, 2025 Professor Stephen Joseph, President (Ag) UTT and Professor Rean Maharaj, Vice President Research, Academic and Student Affairs (Ag) UTT, met with the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) at UTT Tamana Campus.

The courtesy call focused on the Council's plans to advance educational quality, equity, and innovation across the region. The forum provided a valuable platform for open dialogue on the pressing challenges and opportunities facing today's education systems.

Key topics discussed included curriculum reform, equity in access to resources, teacher support, student wellbeing, and CXC's general philosophy of competency-based education and assessment; with an emphasis on learner-centred facilitation.
