The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) and its Centre for Maritime and Ocean Studies (CMOS), congratulates Jubal Brent Lockiby and Jorden Leigh Walker on their selection to participate in the prestigious International Maritime Organization (IMO) NextWave Seafarers Pilot Training in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This programme, a collaboration between the IMO and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aims to address the global seafarer shortage by providing valuable onboard training, global exposure, and professional development at sea.

Both cadets completed UTT’s CMOS Diploma in Maritime Operations, a programme designed to equip students with the practical seamanship skills, theoretical knowledge, and leadership capabilities required for a successful career at sea.

This diploma forms a key part of the University’s mission to prepare competent and globally competitive maritime professionals.

Their participation in this initiative represents a significant milestone in their professional journey and positions them as proud ambassadors of Trinidad and Tobago on the global maritime stage. UTT is confident that they will represent both the country and the University with distinction, professionalism, and pride.

The University extends its gratitude to the IMO's Technical Cooperation and Implementation Division, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for supporting this vital initiative and investing in the future of global maritime leadership. UTT also commends the Centre for Maritime and Ocean Studies for its continued excellence in maritime education and training.

Congratulations to Jubal Brent Lockiby and Jorden Leigh Walker on this outstanding achievement!
