On June 3rd, the Advancing Safety and Sustainable Environmental Transportation (ASSET) Project Team was honoured to attend the official closing ceremony of the Harnessing Innovative Technologies to Support Resilient Settlements on the Coastal Zones of the Caribbean (HIT RESET Caribbean) programme. The ASSET project, implemented by The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), was one of the third-party projects funded under the HIT RESET programme.

Mr. Kevin Bowen of the Heal-a-ton Foundation, a key project stakeholder, captured the spirit of the initiative when he shared, "With TTWeSafe and UTT’s ASSET project, we are not just building an app or deploying buses-we are building trust in transportation. Public transport is not just getting from point A to point B-it includes keeping our women and children, and all of us, safe as they return home to us." These words reflect the deeper impact of the ASSET project-combining innovation, community trust and a shared vision for safer, climate-resilient transport systems.

Also present at the event was Professor Rean Maharaj, Vice President of Research, Academic and Student Affairs (Ag.) ,UTT.
