The University of Trinidad and Tobago's Tamana Campus

Minister's Arrival: Senator Professor the Honourable Prakash Persad, Minister of Tertiary Education and Skills Training, is greeted by Professor Stephen Joseph, President (Ag), The University of Trinidad and Tobago UTT at a visit to UTT’s Tamana Campus on Friday 16 May, 2025. The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) hosted a visit by Senator Professor the Honourable Prakash Persad, Minister of Tertiary Education and Skills Training on Friday 16 May, 2025 at its Tamana Campus

During the visit, the Minister met with members of key academic and corporate staff including Professor Stephen Joseph, President (Ag), and Professor Rean Maharaj, Vice President Research, Academic and Student Affairs among others. Presentations were delivered on the University’s diverse operations and strategic initiatives.

Senator Professor the Honourable Prakash Persad was accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary in the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills Training, Mr Hansen Narinesingh, and Mrs Gwyneth-Ann Morris-Alexander, Deputy Permanent Secretary, among Officers from various education units, who also engaged in discussions with members of the University’s leadership team.

The visit concluded with a brief tour of UTT’s Tamana Campus, led by the University’s Architect, Mr Michael Singh.

The University remains committed to working with the Ministry of Tertiary Education and Skills training, under the leadership of Senator Professor the Honourable Prakash Persad, as the continues on its upward trajectory in pursuit of excellence.
