UTT Patriots Volleyball student - athletes, Talibah Hamlett and Meeka Johnson have been selected for the Trinidad and Tobago Female Under - 19  National Volleyball team, who will be competing at the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association (CAZOVA) Under - 19 Boys and Girls Volleyball Championships in Jamaica.

Hamlett and Johnson are no strangers to the national setup, having represented Trinidad and Tobago on several occasions in the past.

In 2019, Hamlett was  part of the national Under - 18  and Under - 21 teams that competed at the CAZOVA Championships in Jamaica and Martinique, respectively. She was also a part of the national Under - 21 team that placed third at the event’s 2022 edition in Trinidad and Tobago. In the same tournament, representing the red, white, and black in front of her home crowd, Johnson was selected for the Under - 19 team which placed fourth amongst the nation’s Caribbean counterparts.

The 2024 Championships will run from July 26^th - 4^th August, 2024 at the prestigious G.C. Foster College of Physical Education and Sport in Spanish Town. Trinidad and Tobago will be amongst countries such as Jamaica, Barbados, Aruba, Curacao, Suriname, and the US Virgin Islands.

A first place finish would land Trinidad and Tobago a spot in the North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation (NORCECA) Continental Championships in 2025.
