The University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) proudly congratulates Mrs Florence Louis-Edouard, Senior Manager, International Office and Grant Funding, who has successfully defended her doctoral thesis at the Université des Antilles (Guadeloupe), and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Political Science.

Her dissertation, “Creative Industries: Innovative Catalysts for Regional Cooperation in the Caribbean, “received les félicitations du jury”, a distinguished honour within the French doctoral system awarded only when the research is deemed to be of exceptional quality. The jury described her work as pioneering, innovative, and highly relevant to contemporary regional development.

Mrs Louis-Edouard’s research offers ground-breaking insights into how cultural and creative industries (CCIs) can stimulate new forms of cooperation, diplomacy, entrepreneurship, and policy innovation across the Caribbean. By comparing Martinique and Trinidad and Tobago, her work identifies practical pathways for leveraging CCIs as engines of soft power, sustainable development, and regional integration.

UTT extends heartfelt congratulations to Mrs. Louis-Edouard on this remarkable academic achievement. We look forward to her continued contributions to research, policy development, and creative industry advancement within the University and the wider Caribbean region.
