It is with deep sadness that the University advises of the passing of Dr Arthur Potts, who served the University community with integrity for the past 18 years in the Centre for Maritime and Ocean Studies - Marine Sciences Unit.

Dr Potts, an Associate Professor, played a pivotal role in advancing the work of the Marine Sciences Unit and was deeply respected by his colleagues and students alike. His dedication, expertise, and passion for marine research have left a lasting impact on the University and the broader field of marine sciences.

The University extends its sincere condolences to Dr Potts’ family, friends, colleagues, and students during this difficult time.
