Dr. Roger Henry is an Associate Professor of Music at UTT's Academy for the Performing Arts and a prolific composer. "La Romaine" was composed in 2018 as part of a call for compositions by the UTT Ibis Ensemble. It is a reflection on growing up in southern Trinidad and the village of La Romaine in particular. The work evokes a vision of wandering through the streets of La Romaine and encountering people along the way.

Its mission is to enrich and export the culture of the Caribbean by presenting music both familiar and new, exotic and local for audiences of varying age, experience and tastes. As such, the ensemble welcomes the submission of new compositions from regional composers in particular, and is committed to the promotion of experimental music for acoustic, electronic and hybrid media.
