Aim
This course has been developed to provide candidates with the education and training required to satisfy the requirements related to marine high voltage power systems as outlined in Table A – III/1 of the Annex to the International Convention on the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW), 1978 as amended (Manila Amendments). The Knowledge, Understanding and Proficiency (KUP) requirements are set out as follows:
Function: Marine engineering at the operational level
Competence: Operate electrical and electronic systems; Basic configuration and operation principles of high-voltage installations
Entry requirements
Candidates must be not less than 18 years of age and be fluent in the English language.
