The MSTTE concluded its 5th Annual Sports and Family Day at the Prisons Grounds on July 13, 2008. The teams invited to participate in these activities were, the UTT, NTA, MIC, YTEPP, COSTAATT, ECIAF, NESC, HYPE and the two teams from the Ministry, Enforcers and Imperials.
In the UTT’s three years of involvement, it was the first time a March Past team was put forward, and it is with a great sense of pride that we announce that our team won this event and also was awarded first prize for Best Queen. The overall theme for the Sports and Family Day was ‘Learning and Innovating for Life’, our interpretation of the theme (for the March Past) referred to the evolution of education, science, technology, fashion and innovation and their contribution to our human development.
Team UTT also tied with the Ministry’s Imperial Team for 2nd place position in the overall sports. Leading up to the Sports & Family Day, team UTT also participated in the following competitions – Weight Loss; Karaoke; All Fours; Cricket; Cookout (3rd place but was awarded Best Bar-B-Que) and Football.
At this juncture we wish to convey special thanks and congratulations to persons taking part in all of the events and to those who supported from behind the scenes. Our heartfelt thanks also go out to Pte Marvin Mason of the TTDF for his choreography and technical assistance.
